INAMALL: GRAND OPENING AT JULY 8, 2016

Inamall LogoIndonesia now has an official online marketplace to penetrate the huge Chinese market following the launch of Inamall, an Indonesian platform operating on Tmall Global, a subsidiary of Chinese e-commerce giant Alibaba Group in Hangzhou, China. The marketplace was officiated by Indonesian Trade Minister Thomas Lembong and Alibaba Group vice president Brian A Wong on July 8, 2016.

Before the ceremony began, all guests had a free discussion.

E-commerce is among the fastest and most effective way to reach out hundreds of millions of consumers in China and other countries without arduous efforts and huge investments. This will be an effective way to market our Indonesian products.

The launch of Inamall on Tmall Global is the first concrete step to affirm the commitment of Indonesian government to promote digital trading between China and Indonesia, and it will become increasingly important to facilitate trade between the two countries in the future.

Indonesian Ambassador for China and Mongolia Soegeng Rahardjo said, the existence of Inamall is a step forward to introduce and market leading Indonesian products in China. “The challenge is how to maintain product quality, production continuity, capacity, uniqueness or distinctiveness as Indonesian products, so that more people are consistently interested in, know about and buy products from Indonesia.”

Indonesia Products will be sold to Chinese customers through Inamall. Inamall have 2  different platforms each for Business to Business (B2B) and Business to Consumer (B2C)  purpose.

With the new platform, Indonesian producers can sell their products directly to Chinese consumers without going through importers or distributors.

Marie added, “I see Alibaba could be a bridge for SMEs to be able to reach global markets . Our SMEs have potential to be a valuable players in the global market, as long as they want to empower themselves, improve product quality, packaging and everything else.”

Managing Director of Global Alibaba Group, K. Guru Gowrappan speech during the opening ceremony, “One purpose of Alibaba is to serve two billion consumers and tens of millions of sellers globally. This cooperation reflects the long-term globalization strategy Alibaba to introduce brands and retailers from around the world to 450 million users and bring genuine and typical products of the country of origin.”
